Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer - PRN

Overview MedStar Health is looking for a PRN Echocardiograph Technologist to join our team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. The ideal candidate will be an American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered sonographer with knowledge of HIPAA policies on confidentiality. As an Echocardiograph Technologist, you will operate diagnostic equipment to produce high quality echocardiograms. Apply today and learn how MedStar Health can be your next great career move! Responsibilities Clinical: Operates diagnostic equipment and performs diagnostic procedures. Positions patient for the procedure, explains the process and any instructions the patient needs to follow. Scans patients and produces high quality echocardiograms. Operates equipment safely, considering patient, staff, and personal safety. Monitors patients during procedures. Assesses and evaluates ultrasound images. Interacts with physicians regarding scans. Prepares echo report and enters data in Xelera prior to physician interpretation. Environmental: Maintains a clean, safe, prepared work environment. Prepares room for procedure. Cleans and sterilizes equipment and procedure table. Restocks room supplies. Checks drug supplies and informs the appropriate person of what needs to be replenished. Development: Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Identifies learning needs and initiates actions to address them. Attends continuing education programs to maintain registry. Attends hospital-sponsored training programs as required. Completes all mandatory requirements, certifications, and licensure within allotted time. Organizational knowledge: Works effectively within and between departments. Participates in inter-departmental teams and committees. Shares knowledge acquired during participation and demonstrates a constructive approach in interactions with staff and management. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Completion of an Echocardiography program. 1-2 years of experience, preferably in an inpatient setting. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registration required through ARDMS within 180 days.
