Senior Inhalation Technician

We are currently seeking a Senior Inhalation Technician. This position is a full-time opportunity located in West Jefferson, OH. This role provides technical support for task work and maintenance within the Inhalation Technology Group, supporting the Battelle Biomedical Research Center's Aerobiology and Chemical Surety laboratories. The selected individual will assist in the construction and characterization of aerosol and vapor generation and sampling systems with minimal supervision. Secondary responsibilities include ensuring all equipment and reagents — along with their respective logbooks and records — are properly maintained, performing task-specific work, conducting QC review of data, and troubleshooting inhalation equipment as needed. Responsibilities As a Senior Inhalation Technician, the selected individual will provide hands-on technical support across aerosol and vapor generation systems in a specialized laboratory environment. Responsibilities may include: Assist in the construction and maintenance of aerosol and vapor generation and exposure systems Conduct aerosol and vapor generation and exposure activities Collect and record data related to aerosol and vapor generation activities Assist in QC and technical review of data Assist in the maintenance of Inhalation Group equipment and related logbooks Perform other duties as assigned Key Qualifications Associate's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field; pursuit of relevant certifications or continuing education units may be expected as needed Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in support of non-clinical studies Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and SharePoint Demonstrated detail-orientation, ability to work independently, and ability to meet deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills, including English language and grammar proficiency Must be willing to work in a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) and/or Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3) environment and able to wear appropriate respiratory protection Must be willing to be immunized with licensed and FDA-approved vaccines and medications recommended for persons at risk of occupational exposure to biological agents Must be willing to participate in periodic drug screening Ability to obtain and maintain DoJ Security Risk Assessment (SRA) approval (may be required at a future date) Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Select Agent Program approval (may be required at a future date) Must be a US Citizen to perform the duties of this role Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field Previous experience working with respiratory measurement equipment Previous experience working with aerosol generation and delivery systems Compensation Data Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $51,400 – $70,700 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
