TITLE OF POSITION: High School Assistant Principal

STARTING DATE: 2026-2027 School Year

CLOSING DATE: June 30, 2026 at 4:00 P.M.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's Degree with emphasis in areas of administration
• Meet School Administrator continuing education requirements
• Five (5) years of teaching experience
• Results driven, achievement oriented, strategic planning skills and ability to communicate a vision and goals to others
• Strong problem solving ability
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to build successful working relationships with staff, students and families
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to supervise and develop/mentor subordinate staff members
• Ability to function with a keen attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and remain organized when frequently interrupted

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works with principal to identify and coordinate the educational needs of regular and special education programs to ensure maximum educational benefits .
• Assists in the evaluation of staff and instructional programs to ensure student achievement.
• Maintains a positive working relationship with parents and acts as a problem solver when concerns arise.
• Ability to monitor student attendance patterns, coordinates truancy intervention procedures, and collaborates with families and support staff to improve student engagement.
• Addresses behavioral and attendance issues until resolved in a satisfactory manner.
• Develops an atmosphere of trust, respect, interest and enthusiasm within the school.
• Complies with legal and regulatory requirements of various governmental agencies.
• Keeps abreast of new technologies and innovative techniques to ensure school is up to date.
• Supervises extra-curricular activities.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the principal/superintendent.
