Hematology and Oncology Physician

Job Summary Board‑certified or –eligible physician providing Hematology and Oncology clinical services at the Placer Health Center (Rocklin). The physician will perform all the duties of a clinical hematologist and medical oncologist with a commitment of 100% clinical effort (80% direct patient care and 20% indirect care/administrative time). The position is based at the Placer Health Center Cancer Clinic with up to one half‑day per week at the Comprehensive Cancer Center, and may include occasional duties at other UCDH clinics. Key Responsibilities Provide 100% clinical care, including administrative time. See Classical Hematology and Oncology patients during scheduled clinic sessions in Rocklin and the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Allocate 80% time to direct clinical care and 20% to indirect care, education, training and administrative activities. Participate in monthly medical meetings, Tumor Boards, Cancer Committees, Mega Rounds, Journal Clubs, and other UC Davis staff activities. Maintain timely completion of medical records, care coordination, and patient communication. Engage in clinical research and clinical trials, including NIH compliant protocols. Schedule & Clinical Effort Scheduled one half‑day per week at the UCDCCC; 4–8 patients per four‑hour clinic session. Total 100% clinical effort: 80% direct clinical care, 20% indirect care/administration/education. Availability during scheduled clinic hours from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Minimum Qualifications Licensed to practice medicine in the state of California. Board certified in Internal Medicine. Board certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology. Current DEA certification. Obtain CITI Certification within one month of hire. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. Resident Diploma. Knowledge of scientific research methods, federal guidelines for clinical trials and quality assurance procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Adequate computer skills for job duties. Ability to work collaboratively with community physicians and represent UC Cancer Center on Tumor Board, Cancer Committee, and other medical staff committees.
