Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with respiratory-focused experience for a 24-bed unit requiring 2+ years of experience and an active OK or Compact RN license.

Details

• 24-bed Medical Surgical unit with a strong emphasis on respiratory care
• MS/Tele and Telemetry work settings
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Epic charting system used
• Floating required to similar units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided

Requirements

• Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols
• Feeding tube care and PCA/Heparin protocol management experience

• Provide direct patient care on a respiratory-focused medical surgical unit
• First-time travelers welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for travel assignment
• Former facility employees must have separated from permanent staff for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO auto-approved, and no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups not accepted
