Minimum 1+ years Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience and CNA certificate required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A rewarding opportunity is available for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide vital support to a student with complex medical needs within an educational setting. This full-time contract position is based in a school environment and offers an engaging schedule of 35 hours per week. The role requires dedication, knowledge, and a compassionate approach as you help facilitate the student's access to a safe and inclusive learning experience.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 35 hours per week
Qualifications:
- Valid and active CNA certification
- Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a clinical, pediatric, or school setting
- Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to medical emergencies
- Knowledge of feeding disorders, respiratory protocols, seizure management, and care plan implementation is strongly preferred
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to ensuring student safety and dignity at all times
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily health monitoring and direct care for a student with a genetic condition, heart disease (post-surgical), feeding and swallowing disorders, EoE, developmental coordination disorder, ADHD, and asthma
- Support the execution of an individualized health care plan in close collaboration with school nurses, educators, and therapists
- Assist with feeding, medication administration, and personal care tasks according to medical protocols
- Ensure timely intervention for potential health concerns during the school day
- Maintain accurate records of the student’s health status and interventions provided
- Advocate for and support the student’s participation in academic and extracurricular activities as medically appropriate
