At CIJS, educators are part of a collaborative, growth-oriented community where high expectations, strong support, and a deep belief in every child's potential guide our work each day.Position OverviewThe Part Time After School Program Assistant member is responsible for supervising and supporting students during after-school programming in a safe, structured, and engaging environment. Reporting to the After School Care Director, this role ensures students remain safe, active, and productive after the regular school day ends.This position is ideal for energetic individuals who enjoy working with youth, excel at maintaining classroom structure, and take pride in fostering a positive, supportive setting.Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Supervision & SafetySupervise students at all times to maintain a secure environment.Execute accurate attendance tracking and enforce strict student check-in and dismissal protocols.Follow all safety protocols, including emergency procedures and incident reporting.Monitor behavior and intervene proactively to maintain campus structure and decorum.Program ImplementationFacilitate structured after-school routines, including dedicated homework time, physical recreation, and enrichment activities.Assist with activity setup, game facilitation, and smooth operational transitions between spaces.Culture & Behavior ManagementReinforce school-wide behavior expectations and core values.Build positive, respectful relationships with students while upholding clear boundaries.Address behavioral concerns promptly and escalate issues to leadership when necessary.Family & Community InteractionMaintain a professional, welcoming presence for parents and guardians during student pickup.Communicate basic student updates clearly and professionally.Strictly enforce authorized pick-up procedures to guarantee student safety.Key Success Metrics (Year 1)Zero major safety incidents during after-school program hours.Consistent 100% accuracy in daily attendance and dismissal procedures.Positive parent and family feedback regarding after-school experiences.Seamless adherence to program schedules and operational expectations.Core Values & Cultural FitAnd How Are the Children?: Prioritize student safety, well-being, and overall experience above all else.Big Rocks First: Focus relentlessly on active supervision, safety, and structural integrity.Own It: Take full ownership and personal responsibility for the students under your supervision.Expect More: Hold high standards for student behavior, engagement, and mutual respect.Results Matter: Recognize that delivering a safe, structured, and enriching after-school care environment is essential to our school's mission.Requirements & QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience: Prior experience supervising or managing groups of children (school, daycare, camp, or youth sports setting) strongly preferred.Attributes: Punctual, dependable, highly attentive, and effective at managing student behavior.Mission Alignment: Shared commitment to SMART Management & CIJS core values.References: Candidates must be able to provide three professional references, including at least one direct supervisor.
