The College of Integrated Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Rock-County Campus seeks a Program Specialist (Academic Program Specialist, AE010).
Job Summary:
The academic program coordinator contributes to the development, implementation, administration, coordination, and evaluation for bachelor degree completion programs and pathways in the College of Integrated studies to ensure effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives. These programs include the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences Program, Partners in Engineering Programs, and the K-9 Teaching Emphasis.
The academic program coordinator reports directly to the Director of the Solution Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Coordination:
- Serves as a program coordinator of the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences Program
- In conjunction with the Director of the Solution Center, assists with program coordination of other bachelor's level programs in the college (Partners in Engineering Programs, and the K-9 Teaching Emphasis.
- Coordinates with academic partners on program needs
- Develops a recruitment plan for the BAAS and Partners in Engineering Programs
- Liaise with technical college and business partners on program enhancements.
- Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness for continuous improvement.
- Coordinates with College of Education and Professional Studies certifying officer and Director of Clinical experiences for the K-9 Teaching Emphasis licensure requirements.
- Ensures proper documentation of licensure requirements.
Academic Advising:
- Serves as advisor for BAAS students by assisting students with program planning, general course selection, registration, and schedule review
- Engage students in decision making processes and promotes appropriate and responsible choices on academic matters such as course selection and degree requirements
- Refer students to appropriate campus resources which could support their success and engagement with the campus community
- Counsel students on academic probation, receiving academic alerts, and/or are identified as being at risk to succeed
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate student records and processes and responds to academic inquiries according to established institutional and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policies
- Assists with onboarding students
Department Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of the Solution Center staff and will be cross trained on duties
- Assist with organization and serve as an advisor for Student Orientation and Registration days.
- Participate in student welcome and other campus events
- Serve on college and university committees
- Carry out other duties as assigned

- Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement

Compensation:
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary of $50,000.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with minimum of three years of professional higher education experience student-facing and/or student support role - OR- Completed Master's degree (years of higher education experience not needed with a completed Master's degree).
- Experience in training, presenting, or teaching diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree (or enrollment in a Master's degree program)
- Demonstration of excellent organization, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of EAB Navigate and PeopleSoft
- Experience with academic advising
- Experience working with adult students
- Experience with program management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ability to work with internal and external teams and partners
