Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse located in Plano, Texas. This position involves providing compassionate care to high-risk obstetric patients within a Level IV maternity center. The role requires high-risk obstetric experience and skills in fetal monitoring, delivering patient assessments, and assisting with high-risk antepartum care.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse (RN) license, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Candidates with these skills will be prioritized.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual communication skills, experience with high-risk obstetric care, prior work in Level IV maternity centers, and scrub training for continuous fetal monitoring (C-EFM).
• Unit Information:
  • Location: 3901 W 15th Street, Plano, TX 75705
  • Floor: 2nd Floor
  • Building: B
  • Bed Capacity: 21 beds, 4 recovery rooms, 3 OR suites, 4-bed obstetric emergency department (OBED)
  • Staff: Approximately 80 staff members including charge nurses, registered nurses, OB technicians, and secretaries
  • Equipment: GE fetal monitors, Acumen, JADA, EMR Meditec, CPN
  • Staffing Standards: AWHONN staffing standards are followed
  • On-Call Requirement: None
  • Float Requirement: May occasionally float to Mother Baby or assist with feeder growers in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Procedures: Labor, delivery, and recovery of patients; circulations in operating rooms; care for high-risk antepartum patients; triage and assessment of pregnant patients at all stages of pregnancy.
• Additional Information:
  • The unit operates as a Level IV maternity center, caring for routine and high-risk obstetric patients.
  • Candidates must be available to work two weekends per schedule.
