Construction Specialist

Join to apply for the Construction Specialist role at Air National Guard Recruiting Pavements and Construction Equipment personnel construct runways and airfields in remote global locations in addition to maintaining facilities already in use. They are the heavy construction equipment operators in the Air National Guard and their training and on-the-job experience translates into excellent civilian opportunities. These personnel are also trained and experienced in the use of explosives. Primary Responsibilities Construct and maintain concrete and asphalt runways, parking aprons and roads Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment including loaders, graders, bulldozers, backhoes and dump trucks plus tractor‑trailer combinations Determine materials and equipment requirements and prepare construction cost estimates Design demolition projects; place and detonate explosives Up to 30 days of vacation with pay each year Excellent healthcare coverage for you and your family Food and housing allowance A generous retirement program from day one of your service World class job/technical training that will make you competitive in any field Financial benefits to help you pay for college/higher education Qualifications HS Diploma or GED. Completion of courses in general science, shop mechanics and use of drawings is desirable.
