PriOR Authorization Specialist

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the department of Patient Access Supervisor and Director, the Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely submission and attainment of authorization for NKCH patients. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, insurance verification, insurance coverage discovery, precertification and authorization stat using in required EHR fields prior to patients arriving for their scheduled services.EXPERIENCE
General office experience required 1 year. Computer experience required. 1-2 years working in Patient Access, Precertification, and/or healthcare customer service/billing position.SPECIAL SKILLS
Typing/keyboarding skills required. Customer service skills required. Medical terminology and experience working with insurance plans preferred. Cognitive skills required for this position include learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and reasoning.EDUCATION
