CCE of Seneca County Environmental Natural Resource Educator - Waterloo, NY

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions The Environmental/Natural Resource Educator collaborates with CCE of Seneca and Cayuga Counties and the Seneca County Soil and Water Conservation District to develop, assess, deliver, and evaluate programs focused on climate change, recycling, watersheds, invasive species, solid waste management, composting, and alternative energy. Program Assessment (15%) : Identify gaps and trends in community needs, analyze program requirements, and recommend enhancements. Program Development (15%) : Design educational strategies, select resources, and structure programs to serve diverse participants. Program Delivery (30%) : Serve as subject‑matter expert, deliver innovative and existing programs, create lesson plans, and engage volunteers and community partners. Program Evaluation (10%) : Lead surveys and evaluation activities, analyze data, and suggest improvements. Administrative Direction (10%) : Plan program events, build relationships with community groups, and assist with budgeting. Administrative Management (10%) : Monitor content alignment, manage programs and volunteers, resolve issues, and oversee budgets. Coordination/Operation (5%) : Coordinate events, recruit participants, prepare materials, and maintain records. Professional Improvement (5%) : Develop and pursue professional development plans with supervisors to enhance competencies. Health & Safety : Follow federal, state, and local regulations, promote a safe environment, and prevent workplace hazards. Policy Representation : Represent Cornell Cooperative Extension in a professional manner and adhere to all internal policies. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Environmental Studies/Education, Environmental Communication, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, Ecology, Sustainability, or a related field. Relevant experience in environmental education and program management. Ability to design, deliver, and evaluate educational programs. Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual presentation tools. Valid NYS driver’s license and acceptable driving record for agency insurance coverage. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with youth in educational settings. Familiarity with social media and virtual learning platforms. Spanish language communication skills. This is a full‑time (40h/week) exempt position with annual compensation of $62,353.20, applicable benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, NYS health insurance, retirement, and various insurance and assistance programs.
