CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist for one of Rochester’s fastest-growing CNC machining companies. This is a first-shift opportunity within a new, modern facility producing precision components for the aerospace, defense, and medical industries.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC lathes for precision production work
Install and touch off tooling, set work offsets, and complete machine changeovers
Load or edit existing programs and make adjustments at the machine
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
Troubleshoot tooling, dimensional, finish, and machine-performance issues
Read blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions
Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other inspection tools
Assist operators and less-experienced machinists when needed

Qualifications:

CNC lathe setup and operating experience
Ability to independently complete setups and changeovers
Strong blueprint-reading and inspection skills
Comfortable making tool and work offsets
Experience machining tight-tolerance components
Fanuc experience is preferred
Aerospace, defense, or medical machining experience is a plus
Willingness to work overtime as needed
