Civil Defense Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense

Seeking a Litigation Attorney with 2+ years of civil defense experience, preferably in general liability, premises liability, or construction defect. The attorney will manage a focused caseload of approximately 15–20 cases, allowing for quality case preparation and proactive litigation.

We are a fast-growing insurance defense law firm focused primarily on premises liability and construction defect claims. We are intentionally structured differently from traditional defense firms, providing our attorneys with the time, resources, and support needed to handle cases effectively and provide high-quality representation.

Our attorneys typically manage a smaller caseload of approximately 15-20 cases, allowing them to take a more thoughtful and proactive approach to litigation.

We are seeking a motivated Civil Defense Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense. We are also interested in attorneys with significant experience, including attorneys currently practicing at the partner level, who are looking for an opportunity to take on greater responsibility and grow with a firm.

This position is ideal for an attorney who genuinely enjoys litigation, takes ownership of their cases, and wants to continue developing their legal skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 15-20 civil defense matters
• Defend clients in premises liability, construction defect, and general liability claims
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
• Take and defend depositions
• Participate in mediations, hearings, and court proceedings
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers
• Proactively manage cases from inception through resolution
• Evaluate liability, damages, exposure, and settlement opportunities
• Prepare cases for trial and, when appropriate, handle trial proceedings
• Maintain organized and timely case management

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction
• Minimum 2 years of practical civil defense litigation experience
• Experience in general liability, premises liability, construction defect, or insurance defense preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom skills
• Ability to independently manage cases and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proactive, motivated, and conscientious approach to legal practice
• Genuine interest in litigation and professional development
