Intermediate Mechanical Engineering Technician /California

Position Intermediate Mechanical Engineering Technician – 12‑month contract to hire, located in Santa Clara, California. Pay Rate: $40 to $50 per hour. Key Skills Solid interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills Ability to quickly adapt to change Responsibilities Perform moderately complex electro‑mechanical technical functions including design, testing, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems. Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub‑systems. Participate in new system and NPI installations. Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or plans to conduct moderate testing and troubleshooting. Compile logbooks and test‑procedure documentation, and assist in revising, developing, and implementing department procedures. Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing on platforms according to engineering and manufacturing documentation and specifications. Observe all safety standards, maintain a safe work environment, attend required health and safety training, and report incidents promptly. Use protective equipment and operating instructions properly. Strive to prevent accidents and injuries. Stay informed about changes in manufacturing and engineering processes and assist in problem correction. Perform necessary rework and help determine remedies for malfunctions, generating Quality Notifications. Qualifications Physical requirements: Standing, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting; ability to distinguish colors; work in noisy environments; use of hand and power tools; driving or operating heavy machinery including forklifts. May involve clean‑room work with appropriate PPE such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields. Proficiency in analytical processes or procedures to carry out assigned tasks. Understanding of team integration and collaboration to achieve objectives. Ability to provide solutions for atypical or infrequent problems based on precedents or procedures. Impacts quality of own work and contributes to team quality. Uses communication skills to regularly exchange information. Education & Experience Associate's Degree. 4 – 7 years of experience.
