THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a high-energy, driven, and relationship-focused  Sales Director, National Retailers to lead our growth and business development initiatives across new retail channels If you love consumer packaged goods, know how to build lasting buyer relationships, and get excited about pitching top-performing food products to major supermarket chains and mass retailers like Target and Walmart, this is your opportunity to shine.
You will serve as our sales leader for national accounts, driving new retail distribution, guiding broker networks, and bringing authentic Asian food brands to millions of new shoppers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)  

• Build and execute sales strategies to expand Eastland's portfolio into national supermarket banners, mass retailers, and regional grocery chains. 
• Deliver compelling buyer presentations, line reviews, and category growth pitches to major retail accounts, including Target, Walmart, and regional supermarket leaders. 
• Partner with retail buyers to introduce line extensions, seasonal promotions, and high-velocity SKUs across our brand portfolio. 
• Direct and support external broker partners to ensure effective execution at store level and regional distribution centers. 
• Collaborate closely with internal Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams to align inventory forecasts, promotional schedules, and customer demands. 
• Analyze category sales data, retail velocity, and market trends to uncover new sales channels and high-margin product opportunities. 
• Manage promotional budgets, trade spend, and customer margin structures to ensure sustainable growth for both Eastland and our retail partners 
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, setting clear performance expectations, providing ongoing coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement 
• Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of direct reports, ensuring the team is equipped with the skills and resources needed to achieve organizational goals.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS)  

• 7+ years of sales experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), with a proven record of selling food or beverage products to national retailers. 
• Active buyer relationships within supermarket chains, mass merchandisers (such as Target or Walmart), or major grocery co-ops. 
• Strong understanding of retail trade spend, promotional planning, category management, and retail food distribution workflows. 
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a warm, relationship-first approach. 
• High initiative and a team-oriented mindset, with the ability to collaborate across departments. 
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent practical CPG experience). 
• Flexibility to travel for buyer meetings, category reviews, and industry trade shows.

WORK LOCATION & TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS  

• Corporate Base: Based out of Eastland Food Corporation headquarters in Jessup, MD. 
• Work Schedule: Regular office days paired with designated work-from-home flexibility to support your balance and focus. 
• Travel: Periodic travel (approximately 25% to 35%) for in-person buyer meetings, customer reviews, trade shows, and store visits.
