Resicum International LLC is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic II – Powerplant to support C/KC-130T aircraft maintenance operations at NAS Jacksonville, Florida, with the capability to rapidly deploy to operational Government locations worldwide.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
The Aircraft Mechanic II – Powerplant is an experienced aircraft maintenance technician responsible for performing intermediate-to-complex maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, removal, installation, modification, and functional testing of C/KC-130T powerplant systems and associated aircraft components .
The position applies comprehensive technical knowledge of aircraft engines, propeller systems, fuel, oil, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to identify malfunctions, determine appropriate corrective actions, and restore aircraft to safe and operational condition. The Aircraft Mechanic II may also lead small maintenance teams and provide technical guidance to junior personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform scheduled and unscheduled C/KC-130T aircraft powerplant maintenance in accordance with applicable technical publications and maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, remove, install, and modify aircraft engines and associated powerplant components .
- Perform maintenance on engine fuel, oil, lubrication, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems .
- Troubleshoot aircraft engine and powerplant malfunctions using approved maintenance procedures and specialized test equipment.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting associated with propulsion systems and propeller-related components , as applicable to the assigned aircraft.
- Conduct inspections, operational checks, functional checks, and maintenance procedures following component replacement or repair.
- Interpret and apply NAVAIR technical manuals, maintenance instructions, engineering documentation, drawings, schematics, and other applicable technical publications .
- Identify defective or worn components and determine appropriate repair, replacement, or adjustment requirements.
- Perform aircraft engine component removal and installation using approved procedures, tooling, rigging equipment, and torque requirements.
- Use aircraft-specific maintenance equipment and precision tools, including torque wrenches, test equipment, micrometers, dial indicators, and other specialized maintenance tools .
- Assist with Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC) , Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) preparation, and recommendations concerning Modification Work Orders (MWOs) .
- Provide technical input regarding recurring powerplant discrepancies, component failures, maintenance problems, and recommended corrective actions.
- Inspect work performed by Mechanic I personnel when assigned and authorized.
- Lead small maintenance teams through complex or time-sensitive aircraft maintenance tasks when required.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to Mechanic I and other maintenance personnel.
- Make accurate entries in aircraft logbooks, maintenance records, work orders, and applicable maintenance documentation .
- Coordinate maintenance activities with the Site Supervisor, QA personnel, production control, engineering personnel, and Government representatives .
- Prioritize assigned maintenance workload to support aircraft availability, production requirements, and scheduled delivery timelines.
- Maintain compliance with aircraft maintenance, safety, FOD prevention, hazardous material, tool control, and Government procedures.
- Support aircraft maintenance operations during TDY, detachments, and worldwide rapid-response deployments .
- Perform other aircraft maintenance duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Significant professional aircraft maintenance experience with a powerplant/engine specialization .
- Demonstrated experience performing maintenance on military aircraft , preferably C-130 or comparable transport/turboprop aircraft.
- Strong working knowledge of aircraft engine and propulsion systems , including associated fuel, oil, lubrication, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing aircraft powerplant malfunctions using technical publications, schematics, test equipment, and established maintenance procedures.
- Experience performing aircraft engine/component removal, installation, inspection, repair, adjustment, and functional testing .
- Working knowledge of aircraft propeller and propulsion systems applicable to the assigned aircraft.
- Ability to interpret and apply aircraft maintenance technical manuals, NAVAIR publications, engineering instructions, drawings, schematics, and other technical data .
- Experience using specialized aircraft maintenance tools and test equipment, including precision measuring and torque equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify maintenance discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective action.
- Ability to accurately complete aircraft maintenance records and logbook entries.
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary aircraft maintenance team.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet aircraft maintenance schedules .
- Ability and willingness to provide technical guidance and lead junior maintenance personnel when required.
- Military aircraft maintenance experience is highly desirable, particularly U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, or U.S. Air Force C-130/T56 or comparable turboprop experience .
- Direct C/KC-130T maintenance experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with T56-series turboprop engines or comparable military turboprop powerplants is preferred.
- Experience supporting Contract Field Team (CFT), depot-level, intermediate-level, or field maintenance operations is preferred.
- Prior experience working at Navy or Marine Corps aviation maintenance activities is preferred.
- Experience supporting aircraft detachments, deployments, TDY operations, or overseas maintenance missions is preferred.
- Familiarity with NAVAIR/NAMP maintenance requirements is preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required by the contract .
- Must possess a valid U.S. passport .
- Must be willing and able to rapidly deploy worldwide on short notice .
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required visas, immunizations, country clearances, and other deployment documentation as required by individual task orders.
- Must meet all applicable Government, customer, and task-order-specific requirements.
