Job Summary Position: Maintenance Technician (Full‑time, 40 hours/week) – Birmingham, AL As a key member of our maintenance team, you will assist the Maintenance Manager in ensuring that our apartment communities are in good repair and that tenants enjoy the best possible rental experience. Speed and a sense of urgency are essential, as work orders must be resolved in a timely manner. Starting pay ranges from $15–$20 per hour, dependent upon experience, with an excellent benefits and 401(k) package. Roles and Responsibilities Respond timely to requests/work orders and ensure efficient problem resolution, delegating as appropriate. Support preventive maintenance strategies across complexes. Maintain facilities and related systems in good working order (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, exterior, etc.). Ensure units are 100% ready for move‑in (checklists, physical inspections, etc.). Update and maintain work order management through AppFolio (our in‑house property management software). Maintain clean properties by ensuring complexes are clear of trash and debris. Qualifications HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical experience preferred. 1+ year of maintenance experience. Experience with office systems (Excel, Word, etc.) required. Computer proficiency required. Strong desire to uphold personal honesty, integrity, and work ethic. Maintain a passionate and enthusiastic attitude. Driver’s license and ability to drive to various properties. Provide legal documentation confirming eligibility to work in the United States.
