A mission-driven behavioral healthcare organization in New York City is seeking an experienced PMHNP to provide psychiatric care to an adult patient population (18+) across community-based behavioral health, residential, and substance-use treatment programs.

Compensation & Schedule

\n

\n
• $130,000–$180,000 annual salary
\n
• Full-time, permanent position
\n
• Flexible schedule based on program and provider needs
\n
• Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday schedules preferred
\n
• Earlier start times may be available
\n
• Very light rotating on-call coverage
\n
• On-call responsibilities are shared with other providers

What You'll Do

\n

You'll provide psychiatric care to adults across several behavioral health settings, including outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment, substance-use treatment, and medication-assisted treatment programs .

\n

\n

Responsibilities include:

\n

\n
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
\n
• Diagnose psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
\n
• Develop individualized treatment plans
\n
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
\n
• Monitor medication effectiveness, adherence, and potential side effects
\n
• Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention when necessary
\n
• Provide psychiatric care to adults with complex behavioral health needs
\n
• Treat individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance-use disorders
\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary behavioral health and medical teams
\n
• Coordinate care with hospitals, primary care providers, specialists, and community resources
\n
• Support continuity of care across outpatient and residential settings
\n
• Provide clinical guidance to other members of the care team
\n
• Contribute to medication-management protocols and clinical best practices
\n
• Participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
\n
• Participate in a shared, light on-call rotation for urgent clinical matters
\n

Patient Population

\n

This position serves adults ages 18+ across several different behavioral health environments.

What We're Looking For

\n

\n
• Active New York State Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license
\n
• Board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
\n
• Active DEA registration and NPI
\n
• 3+ years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred
\n
• Strong psychiatric assessment and medication-management experience
\n
• Experience in community behavioral health, outpatient psychiatry, residential treatment, substance-use treatment, MAT, or similar settings preferred
\n
• Comfortable treating adults with complex psychiatric and substance-use needs
\n
• Strong clinical judgment and crisis-assessment skills
\n
• Interest or experience in clinical leadership and program development
\n
• Comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary healthcare teams
\n
• Ability to work across multiple NYC locations
\n
• Telepsychiatry experience is a plus
\n
