Food Service - Assistant Cafeteria Manager

Ferguson-Florissant School District – Food Services – Hazelwood, Missouri Starting Date: Immediately Food Service – Assistant Cafeteria Manager Job Summary To collect money for all meals and properly record meals for government reimbursement, supervise staff, prepare breakfast and lunch daily, and set‑up and clean‑up the cafeteria area. Essential Functions Arranges food and beverage items for efficient service to students and staff. Maintains sanitary conditions by cleaning utensils, equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas. Inspects food items and supplies to verify quantity, quality, and compliance with health standards. Inventories food, condiments, and supplies to ensure availability for menu requirements. Monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment. Participates in unit meetings, training, workshops, and other learning opportunities. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds. Ability to work within sanitation rules and without supervision. Ability to follow instructions and count inventory accurately. Ability to foster a positive team environment and supervise others. Current sanitation certificate. Excellent organizational skills. Computer skills for point‑of‑sale system, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of food preparation, presentation, catering, and special events. Duties & Responsibilities Record meals on the computer and handle all monetary transactions. Balance the cash drawer at the end of breakfast, ROA, or lunch. Prepare and serve daily meals, including setting up and restocking steam tables. Clean the steam tables and cafeteria area after service. Stock storeroom and cooling units and maintain accurate inventory levels. Maintain a sanitary work environment. Supervise staff and ensure accurate inventory records.
