Instrument Engineer

Job Title: Interior IP Engineer

Location: Novi, MI

Onsite/Remote: Day 1 Onsite at customer location

Key Responsibilities:

1. 8+ years experience in engineering Instrument Panel / Console Systems thru all development phases
2. Experience with Catia software system and pulling in and cutting sections in data
3. Understanding of Instrument Panel / Console system requirements
4. Experience in DV/PV testing phase for instrument panel / console
5. Fast resolution of open issues for instrument panel / console
6. Plus to have knowledge of the VW systems
7. Strong understanding of the quality process from DFMEA, PFMEA and Control plans
8. Proficient ability to read, speak, and understand English
9. Take direction from Scout Engineering to modify components for engineering/design/safety requirements

Systems to be supported:

1. Instrument Panel
2. Console

Outline of Tasks:

1. Work with Supplier(s) to ensure proper upload of data into the VW system
2. Participate and change to existing parts / assemblies needed to support manufacturing feasibility, part performance improvements, and/or changes to interfacing components/systems
3. Obtain B-Release for provided IP/Console parts
4. Work with supplier to ensure tooling timing supports downstream deliverables
5. Support IP/Console commodity DV/PV testing and lead issue resolution
6. Support supplier builds
7. Support onsite Scout builds
8. Issue resolution for all open IP/Console issues thru build phase(s)
