This pivotal role involves overseeing the technical and financial aspects of project planning, ensuring seamless coordination between design, estimating, and project execution phases. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in solar or renewable energy infrastructure, construction management, and project leadership, with a strong focus on delivering complex projects on time and within budget. This position offers an opportunity to influence the growth of sustainable energy solutions through innovative engineering and meticulous project management.This position comes with yearly bonus + annual car allowance.HoursFull-time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pmLocationHonolulu, OahuPay$175,000 to $225,000 a yearResponsibilitiesLead and oversee preconstruction and engineering efforts for utility-scale solar projects, from early-stage concept development through final contract pricing and project handoff.Manage estimating activities across all project phases, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction drawings through final pricing.Prepare detailed estimate summaries outlining projected costs, potential margins, and overall project financial considerations.Develop, update, and track estimates as designs progress, including value engineering, scope reconciliation, assumptions, and clarifications.Lead the preparation, review, and refinement of preconstruction and engineering deliverables for utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects.Review and analyze owner contracts, subcontractor agreements, consultant agreements, and other project-related documents to identify commercial, technical, operational, and potential risk considerations.Build, train, and manage the preconstruction and engineering team, establishing assignments, priorities, performance expectations, and departmental objectives.Provide training and professional development opportunities while promoting continuous improvement in estimating, engineering coordination, and preconstruction processes.Monitor compliance with departmental procedures and address areas of non-compliance as needed.Conduct department meetings and ensure clear communication regarding project expectations, schedules, priorities, and deliverables.Oversee departmental deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, quality, and timely completion.Develop and maintain productive relationships with project owners, design consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and other key partners.Maintain strong relationships with trade contractors and vendors to encourage competitive bidding and support successful project execution.Coordinate project handoffs to operations teams, ensuring all relevant preconstruction, engineering, estimating, and contractual information is accurately transferred.Provide support to early-stage project management, engineering, and operations teams to facilitate effective planning and successful project execution.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline preferred.Minimum 8 years of engineering and management experience, including minimum 5 years supporting utility-scale solar projects.Strong background in solar utility-scale ground mount projects (engineering coordination, constructability, and preconstruction execution).Must have previous estimating and project scheduling background.
