The position will require interface with both internal and external customers. The Master Scheduler will also be responsible for continuous improvement activities and processes related to production scheduling.Summary of Duties:Develop, maintain, analyze, and coordinate the master production schedule for facility productionResponsible for reviewing requirements for production's master schedule (12 weeks out) and reviewing current forecast for corresponding itemsMaintain and execute the master production schedule to meet customer expectations and performance goalsResponsible for ensuring alignment between customer's forecast/sales orders and master scheduleCoordinate with various departments to facilitate on-time production and deliveriesCoordinate any changes to schedule with production staff and/or relevant stakeholdersIn coordination with S&OP, analyze capacity needs to develop realistic manufacturing schedules and project future capacity constraintsContinuously update the project schedule based on changes in the master production schedule, engineering activities, and material updatesGathers daily progress information and complies reports concerning status of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise project management personnel of productions delaysWorks with the production staff to expedite operations that may delay projects or alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditionsIn coordination with S&OP, ensure factory is level-loaded based on forecasted workloadIn coordination with S&OP, ensure the maximization of resources for the production facility – capacity, materials, and laborEnsure that master schedule reporting is on time and accurateMonitor schedule adherence and weekly shipments as well as production efficiency analyzing standard hours vs. actual hours expendedObtains information from planning regarding shortages in existing backlogs and advises management when on-time order deliver is in jeopardyEvaluate impact of “what-if” scenarios on manufacturing performanceInputs data in to various systems and creates/prepares reports for production planning or customer meetingsDrives operational excellence and provides Supply Chain expertise to other functional areasMust be organized and possess time management skills and be able to adapt to priority changesRegularly provides master schedule updates to relevant stakeholdersReviews shortages in existing backlogs and advises management when on-time order delivery is in jeopardyWorks with Production supervisor on a daily basis to monitor status and scheduling in order to obtain on-time delivery of productsWill coordinate with production any changes to schedulesWorks with Development PlanninJob RequirementsQualifications:Education: Bachelor's degreeExperience: 5 years of experience in production planning in an aerospace, automotive or mechanical manufacturing environment with the ability to lead and influence others.Computer Skill:Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Other Skills:Knowledge of Production Planning and Production Scheduling best practices and principles is required.Strong written and verbal business communications abilities; must be comfortable delivering information to all levels of the organization including senior leadership.Proven ability to generate complex Integrated Master Schedules in a formal reporting environment using MS Excel or MS Project and other elements of the MS Office suite.Familiarity with a Phase Gated Project Lifecycle review processUnderstands the fundamentals of Project ManagementStrong written and verbal business communications abilities, must be comfortable delivering information to all levels of the organization including senior leadership.Self-starter with ability to drive improvement, meet timeliness and objectivesAdditional Preferred Skills: (not required)Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related fieldAPICS CertificationSix Sigma green or black belt8 or more years of experience in production planning in an aerospace, automotive or mechanical manufacturing environment with the ability to lead and influence othersPrevious program or project management experiencePrevious supply chain experienceDescription: Mid-level position within field.But what else?
