The Community Lame Deer, Montana Lame Deer is between Broadus and Hardin on Deer Creek and the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Lame Deer is the tribal and government agency headquarters for the Reservation. The St. Labre Mission and Cheyenne Indian Museum feature Plains Indian Artifacts and a documentary film on the Saint Labre school. The premier event of the Northern Cheyenne is the annual Fourth of July Celebration in Lame Deer, the largest pow-wow held in the reservation. This facility is located in Lame Deer, a small community surrounded by pine-covered hills. For the outdoor enthusiasts, there are numerous places to hike, mountain bike, or fish on the reservation. The service unit is about 63,000 square feet and includes a staff of over 100 to help serve those needs. Responsibilities
- Planning, review and implementing treatment programs based upon initial and interim evaluations.
- Communicating and collaborating with the patients, family members, caregivers, interdisciplinary professionals, and other internal/external elements both orally and in writing.
- Adapts assessment tools and treatments to the complexity of the diagnosis or disabilities and demonstrates the clinical reasoning necessary to identify the need for further in-depth specific assessment of function and utilization of non-standard methods and techniques.
- Documents plan of care and care given in patient's medical record.
- Monitors patient's response to interventions, modifies treatment plan, and reevaluates as indicated to meet short-term and long-term goals.
- Expected to interpret findings from examination and evaluation, select appropriate test and measures, and integrate findings in the physical therapy plan of care for the full range of patient populations.
- Fits devices for patient needs and instructs patients/care providers in the use of these devices.
- Develops home programs for patients as needed prior to discharge and instructs patients, family, or caregivers in implementation of home program.
- Provides consultation, as needed, to peers and other staff responsible for the care of the assigned patient.
- Provides clinical oversite and collaboration with physical therapy assistants.
- Provides patient care which is appropriate to cognitive, emotional, and chronological maturation needs of young adults (18-45 years old), middle adults (45-65 years old) and older adults, (65-older) patients.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Requirements
- Shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted Physical Therapy license in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
- Shall possess current Basic Life Support.
- Shall possess a degree or diploma from a professional Physical Therapy program approved by an accredited institution.
