Statement of Work Details

Supports the planning and execution of research experiments in the context of the laboratory's overall research program.

• Design and conduct experiments and studies requiring the application of a broad professional knowledge of scientific theories and principles. 1
• Design and conduct independent experiments to complete separate previously initiated study using multi-electrode recording. 2
• Perform electrophysiological recordings in association with ongoing studies to understand sensory coding and neural plasticity in the mammalian olfactory bulb. 3
• Perform both slice recordings and in vivo whole animal recordings.
• Perform electrical recordings in response to optogenetic induced light simulation.

Maintains laboratory equipment and the training of others in their use.

• Maintain and update laboratory notebooks and databases.

Evaluates, analyzes and interprets research data, communicates results and methods in reports, presentations, and manuscripts.

• Complete the data analysis associated with multi-electrode project.

Provides interpretation of results, guidance, and scientific support to the management team.

• Organize data from study and assemble them in figure format appropriate for publication.
• Prepare summaries, reports and presentations.

Mentors junior level scientists.

• Train and provide support to staff on multi-electrode recording methods.
