Audit Manager

A Day in the Life The Manager is responsible for the management of their areas of specialty. They have responsibility for overseeing completion of year-end compilations, manages audits, and other complex accounting projects. The Manager is proficient in related specialty area(s) of the accounting function, quality control and JCCS committee and/or team responsibilities. JCCS team members have significant experience in industry-specific areas to help clients plan for strategic growth while minimizing costs and increasing profits. Essential Job Responsibilities: Lead complex audit engagements from planning through completion for a variety of clients and industries as well as client billing. Develop engagement timelines, coordinate fieldwork, and delegate tasks to staff. Assess risk areas and design audit procedures to address significant risks. Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm policies. Supervise preparation of client financial statements, including footnote disclosures. Develop strong client relationships and serve as primary point of contact during engagements. Take responsibility for quality control issues. Mentor and train staff and interns on audit procedures and standards. Attend training and stay informed on current accounting, auditing, and regulatory developments (e.g., GAAS, GAAP, Uniform Guidance). Use expertise to serve on JCCS committees and lead JCCS teams. Contribute significantly to marketing activities that bring in their own clients and participate in promoting new firm services. Maintain strict confidentiality of information related to client, staff, and firm’s internal operations during and after employment with JCCS. Licensed CPA by the Montana State Board of Public Accountants 5+ years’ experience in public or private accounting. Skills for Success: Technically competent in commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting field. Proficiency in applying accounting and auditing standards. Proficiency with technology, AI tools and research. Ability to problem-solve and think critically. Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
