About the Position

AlliedTravelCareers is working with United Health Care Staffing to find a qualified Pharmacist in Houston, Texas, 77001!

Local Pay: $72/hr on w2 (depends on experience)

Shift Options available-

• Option A: 4x10s Day Shift

• Option B: 5x8s Evening Shift

• Job Responsibilities:

• Order Verification: Review, interpret, and accurately verify inpatient physician medication orders via the hospital's EMR system, evaluating for proper dosing, drug-drug interactions, and duplicate therapies.

• Clinical Consultation & Rounding: Act as a critical resource for physicians and nursing staff, providing evidence-based guidance on complex medication regimens, IV compatibility, and formulary alternatives.

• Sterile Compounding Oversight: Oversee and validate the precise preparation of intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and hazardous drugs in strict compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> cleanroom standards.

• Pharmacokinetic Monitoring: Manage therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) protocols for specialized high-alert medications (e.g., Vancomycin, Aminoglycosides, Heparin/Warfarin), adjusting doses based on lab values and patient renal function.

Job Requirements

• License: Active, unrestricted Pharmacist (RPh) license issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy .

• Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of recent, independent clinical inpatient/acute care hospital pharmacy experience (3+ years preferred for high-acuity facilities).

• Technical Skill: High proficiency navigating hospital informatics and automated dispensing systems (such as Epic Willow, Cerner, Pyxis, or Omnicell).

• Life Support: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
