Retirement Plan Operations Specialist

We are looking for a Retirement Plan Specialist to join Guidant Financial, a fully remote role available to candidates in AZ, FL, GA, ID, KS, LA, MI, MN, NC, NE, TX, UT, VA, MO, OK. The pay is $23.55 per hour ($49,000 annually). Role Summary As a Retirement Plan Specialist, you will learn to administer, test, and report on 401(k) plans. You will review client documents, keep clients updated on progress, and help them understand year‑end reporting required for government filings, including the annual 5500 return. What You'll Be Doing Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting Review client documents for completeness and accuracy Reconcile plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administrative software Utilize software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software Educate clients on the administration of their 401(k) plan and its documents Extra Tasks Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply Train on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I Perform other duties as required Requirements Must be 18 years of age Excellent verbal and written communication skills Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving Strong customer service, organization, and collaboration skills Adequate math and analytical skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, finance, etc.) or equivalent experience preferred Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations preferred Ability to work independently in an autonomous environment Commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels heard and respected Additional Requirements Must pass a background check Must meet work‑from‑home requirements to qualify Complete continuing education based on current certifications Remote Work Requirements Designated workspace (home office) Reliable high‑speed internet connection Benefits Working toward an ESOP company – shared accountability and long‑term prosperity Competitive salary and comprehensive health coverage (free premium option available) Paid parental leave and generous 401(k) match 3 weeks of paid time off and 11 paid holidays Ongoing training, career development opportunities, and supportive leaders Inclusive culture that values employee voices and active participation Our Values Adaptability : Embrace change and seize opportunities to inspire others.
