Due to Post-specific operational and administrative considerations, the position is not approved to be performed in Alaska, California, Hawaii, or New York. Candidates must be physically located and perform their work from an approved state.

JOB SUMMARY: 

A human services and sociology associate faculty member is a part-time employee hired to teach specific human services or sociology course(s) during a semester on a part-time basis on the main campus in Waterbury, CT. As an instructor, the associate faculty member's primary duty is to convey the course material so that students can attain the instructional outcomes of the course.

The human services and sociology associate faculty member's minimum obligation to the University is to fulfill the requirements specified for each course and comply with the University's procedures and regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Facilitate Class Instruction.  The human services and sociology associate faculty member is responsible for teaching the assigned class in accordance with learning outcomes and syllabi specified by the program chair of human services and sociology and by Post University. 

Classroom Management:  The associate faculty member is responsible for adhering to all Post University policies and guidelines as they pertain to course conduct and academic expectations for engagement. As the primary contact with students in the course, the associate faculty member is expected to work closely with the program chair and Student Advising to address areas of concern.

Evaluate Student Performance. The associate faculty member is expected to administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics. All interim course grades will be posted on the Blackboard Grade Center. Final course grades will be posted into the University’s system known as WebReg.

Adhere to Course Guidelines. The associate faculty member is responsible for participation in any class discussions, activities, and assignments as determined by the course. The program chair shall set the required minimum, but it should be recognized that Post University in general requires all instructors to fully engage students and maintains a high-touch effort with students.

Respond Promptly to Grade Determination. The associate faculty member should submit grades for any assignments, discussion board exercises, and exams and course completion according to the established requirements.

Input Final Grades in WebReg and into the Blackboard Grade Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
 
All human services and sociology associate faculty must:

• Have a minimum of a master’s degree and significant related experience in human services, sociology, or related field.
• Be available to teach daytime hours two or three days a week in-person, on the main campus in Waterbury, CT. 
• Have college transcripts (official) on file with Associate Experience to be considered for employment.
• Complete a training session prior to their first teaching assignment at Post University and follow-up semester in-person classroom technology and teaching training.
