Position: Broiler Cook

We're looking for a dependable and skilled Broiler Cook to join our kitchen team at Bocado Tapas. This role is for someone who loves creating great food and thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You'll be responsible for broiling and grilling meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables over high heat, ensuring every dish is cooked to the guest's exact specifications, beautifully presented, and full of flavor.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up your broiler station each day with all necessary tools, ingredients, and equipment.
• Broil and grill meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables to order, ensuring each item is cooked to the requested temperature and presented beautifully.
• Use proper high-heat cooking techniques to achieve the correct sear, texture, and flavor.
• Season, marinate, and finish dishes according to Bocado Tapas' recipes and standards.
• Monitor broiler temperatures, cooking times, and multiple dishes simultaneously to ensure precision, consistency, and food safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout your shift.
• Assist with daily prep, menu specials, and event service when needed.
• Coordinate closely with sous chefs, grill cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service and timely ticket execution.
• Handle ingredients safely and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
• Check and track inventory for your station and promptly communicate shortages or equipment issues.
• Help with closing duties, including cleaning equipment, restocking, and properly storing food.
• Bring a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine team spirit to every shift.
• Take pride in every dish you serve—you're a key part of the guest experience at Bocado Tapas
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Previous broiler, grill, or high-volume cooking experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of broiling and grilling techniques, including heat control, cooking temperatures, and timing.
• Ability to prepare meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables to precise guest specifications.
• Ability to multitask, monitor multiple dishes, stay calm under pressure, and work efficiently during busy shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistency, taste, and presentation.
• Great communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and proud of the work you produce.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work safely around high heat.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Food Handler's Certification required or must be obtained after hire.
