Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) is now accepting Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) applications for the 2026-2027 school year! Apply now to be considered! Candidates who pass screening will have an opportunity to apply for open positions at specific MPS schools as they become available this spring and summer.

Speech-language pathologists provide a complete array of services to students with identified communication problems, including students whose primary disability is "speech-language impairment" and students with other primary disabilities who have needs in the area of communication (for example, students with autism, cognitive disabilities, developmental delay).

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: pre-referral consultation to general and special education teachers. Case management for students with speech-language impairments only. Due process compliance, third-party billing, program data collection, funding reports, etc. Evaluations: comprehensive initial and reevaluations for all types of communication disabilities. Standard-referred IEPs and IIIPs (intervention that supports literacy and other standards). Direct intervention services to students in the least restrictive environment (include classroom-based service). Indirect intervention and consultative services to teams. Teachers and parents. Other site-based and special education duties, including support of district literacy goals.

Minimum qualifications: Education, Training and Experience Master's Degree in communication disorders. A valid Minnesota teaching license in Speech-Language Pathology. ASHA Certification preferred.

Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule 42 weeks

Physical Demands and Working Environment: School environment; may involve lifting up to 40 pounds; and the ability to sit, walk, and/or stand for extended periods of time, both indoors and outdoors.

Final candidates may be invited to interview with a committee. Final appointment to this position will be contingent upon passing a criminal background check.
