NurseThe nurse will triage patients to determine prioritization of care, diagnostic testing, and other requirements. The nurse will help stabilize patients, document symptoms, and elevate concerns to medical provider. The nurse must be able to multitask effectively while providing excellent patient care.ResponsibilitiesTriage incoming patients using ESI acuity levelManage care for patients experiencing acute illnesses, injuries, trauma, or allergic reactionsAssess patient care needs to determine prioritization of treatmentCollaborate with the emergency room multidisciplinary team to establish treatment goals and develop care planAdminister life-sustaining medications, resuscitative IV fluids, and blood productsStabilize patients for further treatmentMonitor vital signs and document findings in the electronic health record (EHR)Perform diagnostic tests and assist with bedside procedures to stabilize critically ill patientsDocument patient care and communicate with the healthcare teamAdminister patient education including follow-up care instructionsProvide emotional support to patients, caregivers, and familyQualificationsGraduate of an approved School of Nursing with a current North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact.Certifications required: ACLS, PALS, BLSCertifications Recommended: TNCC, CEN
