Primary Therapist

The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing direct services to adult and adolescent members and their families enrolled in The Living Room at Princeton, including individual, group, and family therapy. In collaboration with treatment team staff, primary therapists ensure quality of care provided to members in the outpatient behavioral health settings, including outpatient mental health, outpatient substance use disorder treatment, and adult partial care mental health treatment settings, according to member's needs and level of care. Primary Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Receive, review and promptly respond to intake referrals upon assignment of the case Conduct Bio/Psych/Social assessments, diagnose and formulate treatment plans Check in with members at the following frequency: weekly for the first month in the outpatient mental health, outpatient substance use disorder treatment, or adult partial care mental health services programs. Frequency to be determined thereafter on an as-needed basis. Manage caseload of members, based upon experience Complete and assist members in aftercare and discharge planning Provide direct clinical services, including individual, group, family and/or couples therapy to members and their families Provide clinical services at all levels of care as needed Provide case management services as needed, including referrals to outside resources when necessary Ensure cohesion of all services documented within the clinical chart (including but not limited to services provided by case management, medical providers and the laboratory), and assists with compliance of various standards. Maintain accurate, thoroughly documented member records with a quality of documentation that meets all applicable standards in Kipu based on daily log Utilize electronic health record system to input all clinical documentation Attend and participate in treatment team meetings on a weekly basis to ensure quality of care for members Consult with Clinical Supervisor for an update on member needs, special incidents, level of care transfers, etc. Attend staff development and general staff meetings Attend staff and clinical trainings Communicate with Medical Services Supervisor to ensure quality clinical services are provided to the member on a timely and as needed basis Participate in and attend supervision/consultation with clinical management team Collaborate with members of the multi-disciplinary treatment team to ensure effective delivery of a full spectrum of clinical services Comply with local, state and federal confidentiality laws and regulations Collaborate with professionals both within and outside the agency, as appropriate Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences Abide by The Living Room at Princeton of ethics and model values Qualifications Strong communication with members and staff through various forms of communication, including email and phone Computer literacy is required. Must be able to use Word, Excel, etc. Experience on Kipu is a plus Masters in Social Work, Psychology or related field AND :

• Current license (NJ) to practice independently as LCSW or LPC OR
• Current license (NJ) to practice as LSW, LAC working toward above licenses PLUS two years of post-master’s experience working with adult population in a treatment center setting
