Role Description

This is a full-time mid to senior-level role with a title of Senior Tax Associate. The role will take on a Hybrid schedule, with in-office days occurring in Greenwich, CT. The Senior Tax Associate will work closely with the Managing Partner and Associate Financial Advisors and is ideal for someone who is a self-starter. Through that close partnership, the associate will be responsible for collaborating on tax planning activities, as well as, pertinent tax filings for a select contingent of clients. This will also lead to collaboration in financial plan activities and upkeep. The associate is expected to have a preferred tax software with relevant experience in it and will also quickly gather an understanding of how we work closely with our clients. It is expected that the Senior Tax Associate has experience in multiple facets of tax, and experience with the HNW or UHNW is preferred.

 

• Serve as a Trusted Advocate of the CEO & Managing Partner.
• Spearhead timely tax filings, with the IRS, and the clients’ respective state(s).
• Assist in facilitating client relations, data collection, analysis, and tax related documents.
• Assist Managing Partner with action plans and action items specific to an individual client, and be present, available and active in client reviews where tax circumstances may apply.
• Conduct analysis of tax changes, recommendation actions for optimization, and perform ongoing analysis
• Assist in tax planning analysis for prospective clients or as a part of ad hoc financial planning engagements.
• Be involved in portfolio management decisions as they pertain to tax planning or tax impacts.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures and perform business functions with focus on consistency, quality, and compliance
• Perform other administrative duties, as assigned

 

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a tax associate (or similar) role (minimum 3 years).
• An accounting related certification, notably being an active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or an active EA (Enrolled Agent).
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or related field is a plus, but not required.
• Familiarity with a preferred accounting and bookkeeping software.
• Interest in Finance, Financial Planning, Investment Management and Wealth Management beyond one’s assumed interest in Accounting.
• Strong Analytical Skills and Investment Knowledge.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills & excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and exercise discretion without immediate supervision at all times.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and assignments in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality while being professional and poised
