Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference in your community? At LEAPS and Beyond, Inc. , we’re looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Certified Behavior Technicians (CBTs) in Washington State.

As a CBT, you’ll work directly with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities, helping them build essential life skills through evidence-based behavioral therapy. Responsibilities

• Implement behavior plans under the supervision of a BCBA
• Collect and record data on observable client behavior
• Assist in the development of care plans
• Educate and support families on behavior management techniques
• Work directly with individuals with autism to teach and reinforce positive behaviors
• Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to support clients
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Requirements

• Experience working with children or individuals with special needs
• Proficiency in data collection and documentation
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health
• Familiarity with care plans and medical documentation
• Understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position or move about various client environments (home, school, clinic, or community) for extended periods.
• Occasionally moves or positions items and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently positions self to support clients at floor level or during play-based activities.
• Constantly communicate with clients, families, and team members to exchange accurate information.
• Observes and detects client behaviors and environmental cues to ensure safety.
• May traverse between rooms or service locations; some spaces may involve stairs, ramps, or outdoor areas.
• Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

Work Environment

• Work occurs in homes, schools, clinics, or group living settings and may vary in structure, noise level, and lighting.
• May be exposed to clients exhibiting behaviors such as yelling, hitting, biting, or running (elopement), with proper training and support provided.
• May work near individuals needing assistance with hygiene, toileting, or mobility tasks.
• May occasionally be exposed to bodily fluids or communicable conditions, with PPE and training provided.

1. Requires the ability to remain calm and supportive in high-energy or emotionally charged situations. The environment is highly interactive, requiring adaptability, movement, and quick thinking.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a General Educational Development (GED) certificate or a high school diploma.
• Must be able to successfully pass a 10-year criminal history background check.
• Must have a valid state-issued identification card or driver’s license.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be willing to work with LEAPS clients in a variety of settings, including in-home, clinic, group homes, and school environments.
• Must have access to an active mobile device.
• Must be able to complete the required 40-hour unpaid training course within the designated timeframe.
