IT System Administrator III

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator III to support enterprise server, database, web, and application environments. This is a journey-level position responsible for assisting with the administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, maintenance, and documentation of systems and applications across Microsoft Windows and Linux server platforms.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server administration, SharePoint administration, web server administration, and application support. This role will support ongoing operations, system upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and project-based implementations.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.
Support Microsoft SQL Server databases, including configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Assist with web system administration, including Microsoft IIS, Apache, Apache Tomcat, or similar platforms.
Support Microsoft SharePoint administration, including application/site maintenance and user support.
Perform software installations, upgrades, patches, and system updates.
Monitor and analyze system performance, application availability, and operational issues.
Document systems, procedures, configurations, incidents, and troubleshooting steps.
Support multi-tier applications and related web/database infrastructure.
Assist senior technical staff with new projects, system implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
Maintain web certificates and related security configurations as needed.
Follow established IT policies, procedures, and change management processes.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary, sensitive, and personal information.
Collaborate with internal IT teams, business users, vendors, and technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, plus four years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, plus two years of relevant experience.
Experience deploying, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux servers.
Experience with web servers such as IIS, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss, or similar platforms.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint system administration.
Valid California driver's license.

Web application and database system support
Software installation, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting
Data management principles and practices
Web certificates and related system security administration

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience supporting enterprise-level web, application, and database environments.
Experience working with multi-tier applications.
Experience assisting with system implementations, upgrades, and technical projects.
Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior technical staff.
Experience supporting both operational and project-based IT work.
