Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator - Waste & Hauling Industry

Stilo Disposal is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator to join our growing team. This is a fast-paced position that requires strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to think several steps ahead while managing daily operations. This is not an entry-level position.

Waste hauling, trash, roll-off, or transportation industry experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Dispatch and coordinate drivers, trucks, and containers efficiently throughout the day
• Monitor routes, schedules, and service requests
• Communicate with customers, drivers, and vendors regarding service needs
• Troubleshoot operational issues and develop solutions in real time
• Manage service schedules, swaps, deliveries, pickups, and special requests
• Enter and maintain accurate data within company software systems
• Generate reports and maintain operational records
• Assist with customer service and account management as needed
• Work closely with management to improve efficiency and productivity
• Anticipate operational challenges and proactively address them before they become problems

Qualifications:

• Previous dispatching experience required
• Waste, recycling, roll-off, transportation, or hauling industry experience preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Comfortable learning and navigating multiple software platforms
• Ability to work independently and figure things out without constant direction
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong multitasking abilities in a high-pressure environment
• Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Forward-thinking mindset with strong attention to detail
• Reliable, dependable, and highly responsive
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of responsibilities

Bonus Qualifications:

• Accounts Payable experience
• Customer billing and invoicing experience
• Experience with state reporting requirements related to waste and recycling operations
• Knowledge of industry-specific software systems
• Experience preparing operational and compliance reports
