Identification Supervisor

Overview The Ohio Attorney General's Office is seeking an experienced Identification Supervisor for the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Section at the London, Ohio office. The position reports daily to the London location. BCI is Ohio’s official crime lab serving the criminal justice community and protecting families. Responsibilities Supervise the Clerical Unit under the Director of Identification, including: mail processing, reception of visitors, records management, policy development, employee performance review, leave coverage, CCH system instruction, subordinate training, presentations to law enforcement, liaison duties, and transmission of decisions and directives. Represent the Director at meetings and conferences; assist community needs in complex and confidential matters; and direct the distribution of required supplies. Supervises the activities of the Clerical Unit. Supervises the processing of all incoming and outgoing mail. Supervises the reception of visitors to BCI. Supervises the management of records used by the various units within the division. Assists Director with development of policy & procedures of unit. Reviews & evaluates employee performance. Recommends leave requests ensuring coverage of the unit. Interprets & instructs subordinates in the CCH system. Trains subordinates. Gives presentations to the law enforcement community as needed. Serves as liaison between Director & subordinates. Transmits decisions & directives; represents Director of Identification at meetings & conferences. Responds to the needs of the law enforcement community in related complex & confidential matters. Directs the distribution of required supplies to law enforcement agencies. Prerequisites 12 months experience as an automated fingerprint identification supervisor; completion of basic fingerprinting course. Or 4 years training/experience classifying fingerprints using Henry Classification System & National Crime Information Center methods with extensions & modifications, including 6 months as supervisor or lead worker. Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
