One Mission!How You'll Make an Impact:A Quality Engineer will have the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to ensure compliance with customer engineering and quality requirements throughout the production process from receipt of purchase order to delivery of product. This includes customer specific quality requirements, procurement and processing requirements, document control, contract review, and job/work order planning. This position requires a high degree of concentration and multitasking.What you'll be doing as a Quality Engineer:Working a full-time, onsite position at our Rockford, MI location.Contract review of customer purchase orders to ensure full understanding and compliance with quality and engineering requirements and assessment of any associated risks.Review and approve of internal work orders to ensure compliance with customer requirements.Review and approve of procedure, work instructions and/or forms in compliance with industry and AS9100 standardsInternal auditing to AS9100 Rev D requirements and internal standard workCollaborate with planning, outside processors, and customers to facilitate the creation and approval of controlled manufacturing plansAssists in the implementation, and administration of other QA and company activities including: risk management, configuration control, training, auditing, corrective actions, continuous improvement, and preventative actions.Perform in depth root cause, corrective and preventive actions using 8D and other root cause analysis toolsAdheres to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws determined by the company, state, and federal authoritiesPerforms other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):Five years' experience in aerospace industry quality related roles.Bachelor's degree in Engineering a plus or at least 5 years' experience in the same or similar role without a degreeCollaborates with external and internal customers, including Manufacturing, Program Management, Engineering, and Sales staff to meet customer requirements, ensure compliance, and continue smooth flow of quality products.Lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement/value stream experience in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in QMS and AS9100 Rev DExperience with Quality Assurance, job/work order planning, D6-1276 and other OEM frozen planning requirements, OEM customer quality and engineering requirements, heat treat and processing specifications, selection of customer approved suppliers, quality requirements for procurement of raw material, contract review of customer quality and engineering requirements.Experience with Microsoft Office applications and MRP systemsWorks independently, follows instructions, can concentrate for long periods of time and is able to tolerate multiple interruptions throughout the day.Team player with a can-do attitude.Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):Experience in a machining environmentSix Sigma Black Green.Compensation and Benefits:Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.Choice of medical plan options, including a no-cost employee-only coverage planHSA-eligible health plan with employer contributionsBasic and supplemental life insuranceLong-term disability coverage401(k) plan with up to a 6% QACA company matchPaid time off including vacation, sick time, and nine (9) paid company holidaysShift differentials for applicable off-shiftsDiscretionary bonus programs based on position and company performancePlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
