Medical Assistant

Description Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a dependable and compassionate Part-Time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our colorectal specialty team. The CMA will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to provide high-quality patient care while assisting with the daily clinical operations of the practice. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach. Experience in colorectal, general surgery, gastroenterology, or another specialty practice is preferred but not required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare patients for physician examinations and procedures. Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, medications, and other pertinent clinical information. Assist physicians with examinations, minor procedures, and other in-office clinical needs. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies. Perform clinical tasks within the scope of training, certification, and applicable regulations. Assist with specimen collection, labeling, handling, and appropriate processing. Administer medications and injections as directed and within applicable guidelines. Perform and document clinical procedures accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Assist with patient education and provide instructions regarding medications, procedures, preparation, and follow-up care. Coordinate and assist with patient scheduling and follow-up appointments as needed. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, and other members of the healthcare team. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR. Monitor and maintain adequate clinical supplies and notify appropriate personnel of supply needs. Follow all infection control, safety, HIPAA, and organizational policies and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times. Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional patient care. Assist with other clinical and administrative duties as assigned. Requirements Current CMA certification required. High school diploma or GED required. Previous medical assisting experience preferred. Experience in a specialty, surgical, colorectal, gastroenterology, or similar clinical setting preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required within the applicable timeframe. Strong knowledge of basic clinical procedures and medical terminology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations. Professional, dependable, and team-oriented. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Why Join Precision Healthcare Specialists?
