Senior Systems Administrator

Perform systems administration activities using automation, scripting, and standardized procedures Support Linux server operations, backups, patching, and integration with enterprise applications Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and manage system lifecycles Troubleshoot complex operating-system-level, performance, and availability issues Manage system services, storage, file systems, logging, and scheduled tasks Integrate server applications with Active Directory and ERP systems Configure applications to connect to backend databases Install and configure SSL certificates Participate in an on-call rotation with occasional after-hours and weekend work May lead or mentor lower-level team members Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or IT (Required) Five (5) years of relevant experience in IT and systems administration is required Experience with automation, scripting, Linux server operations, backups, patching, and enterprise application integration Experience with VMware and ESXi Experience configuring applications to connect to backend databases using MSSQL and/or other databases Understanding of SSL and ability to install and configure certificates Understanding of server applications and integration with Active Directory and ERP systems Ability to work in a team environment and tactfully discuss issues with peers and leaders Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional after-hours and weekend work Excellent verbal and written communication skills May require ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48 Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in Linux Server Operations, Automation, and Scripting, with a strong focus on system administration, application integration, and database connectivity.
