Office Assistant I - Extra Help

Join our team as an Office Assistant I - Extra Help and play an important role in supporting the Public Works department and the community we serve. In this position, you will keep things running smoothly by providing essential clerical, word processing, and data entry support while assisting the public with information about departmental policies and procedures. Your skills, organization, and commitment to excellent service can make a meaningful difference every day! Please note: This extra help assignment is anticipated to last approximately six (6) months but may end earlier or be extended based on the operational needs of the department. This is a non-benefited position, salary placement will be based on the selected candidate’s experience. Extra-Help employees may not exceed 960 hours worked in a fiscal year or 28 hours per week. What's this Job All About? This is the entry to journey level class within the Office Assistant series. Employees within this class perform the full range of duties as assigned. Employees at this level may receive moderate instruction or assistance and work toward becoming proficient in the procedures and policies of the assigned work unit. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Office Assistant I Experience: Six (6) months of administrative/clerical experience.
