Cable Technician

Location: Nashville, TN

About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced  Data & Cabling Technicians to support commercial low-voltage and structured cabling projects throughout the

Nashville area. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in commercial cabling environments who can work independently while collaborating with lead technicians and project teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure installations.

Key

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, and install low-voltage copper cabling, including CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A .
• Navigate commercial pathways such as conduits, J-hooks, cable trays, and drop ceilings.
• Perform high-quality copper terminations into:
• RJ45 connectors
• Keystone jacks
• Patch panels
• Apply and maintain TIA/EIA T568A and T568B wiring standards.
• Bundle, dress, and label cable runs according to project specifications and industry standards.
• Support installations within telecommunications rooms, MDFs, and IDFs.
• Read and follow project drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all job site safety requirements.
• Collaborate with project leads, foremen, and team members to meet project deadlines.

Required

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of commercial structured cabling experience .
• Experience installing and terminating CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling.
• Strong understanding of TIA/EIA wiring standards , including T568A and T568B termination methods.
• Ability to independently perform data cable termination and punch-down work.
• Experience working in active commercial construction or office environments.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical environments, including elevated and confined spaces.

Preferred

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience with:
• Telecommunications installations
• Rack and stack deployments
• Patch panel terminations
• MDF/IDF buildouts
• Cable testing and troubleshooting
• Exposure to fiber optic, security, or AV systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
