Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)Facility: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Lakeway, TXDepartment: Operating RoomStatus: Full Time, 40 hrs. per weekShift: 6:30 – 3:0040 BedsCall: Must arrive within 45 mins Call - Friday thru Sunday divided between the Nurses (Normally 3 or 4 shifts per month and 1 weekend every 2 plus months). Call for weekdays PTO coverage only Monday – ThursdayMin of 1 yr RN OR expWe have 6 OR suites, 2 ENDO suites and 1 room for pain procedures.We do mainly Neuro, Spine, Ortho and General cases.We have state of the art Neuro equipment including Stealth Navigation, Mazor Robot and several "O"arms for imaging.We also have a Davinci Robot for general and urology cases.Our OR case volume usually runs 10 -20 cases a day.We do emergencies only after hours and on the weekendsHere at Baylor Scott & White Health we promote the well-being of all individuals, families, and communities. The RN uses the BSWH nursing model to coordinate patient care. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses. The RN develops and implements an individualized care plan and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs. The RN helps patients transition through healthcare without preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and employee competencies.Essential Functions of the Role:Clinical Judgment: Using clinical reasoning, conducts accurate assessments according to standards. Identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs. Develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing care plan. Modifies plan to meet outcomes.Clinical Inquiry: Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, including nursing indicators. Helps evidence-based practice changes through research and learning.
