Volunteer Coordinator (Part-Time)
Star Gospel Mission is seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer Coordinator to help recruit, engage, and support volunteers who serve alongside our ministry. This position plays a key role in building relationships with churches, businesses, schools, and community groups while ensuring volunteers have a meaningful and rewarding experience.

- Reports to the Development Officer
- Charleston, SC
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit volunteers through churches, businesses, schools, and community organizations
- Coordinate volunteer inquiries, orientations, onboarding, and training
- Develop and maintain volunteer schedules
- Support volunteer engagement, appreciation, and retention efforts
- Build and maintain community partnerships
- Coordinate volunteer participation for Mission events and service projects
- Maintain volunteer records, databases, and participation reports
- Assist with volunteer-related communications and storytelling efforts
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum two years of experience in volunteer management, customer service, nonprofit operations, ministry leadership, event coordination, or a related field
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and schedules simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database software
- Valid Driver's License required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist with volunteer activities and event setup
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to travel occasionally between Mission facilities and events
