We are the rebellious hero.The Design Engineer will focus on contributing to the world class design and development of power distribution systems for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), data center infrastructure, and associated components focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability.You will collaborate with a diverse group who are committed to only the highest quality solutions. We are a collaborative team and this means you’re empowered and have the opportunity to influence all aspects of the design, and know that each contribution you make is significant.Responsibilities:Provide high-quality designs of large-scale BESS and data center power infrastructure products based on customer specificationsApply engineering principles to design or modify products for prototype testing.Participate in design reviews of all products designed within the department.Support quoting activities and customer specification reviews to develop solutions that effectively meet customer needsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives.Create detailed part designs and drawings using SolidWorks software.Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal departments to deliver best-in-class products to the energy storage, data center and renewable energy industriesMinimum BSME graduate with at least 2 years recent design experienceMinimum three years’ experience using SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDMPreferred: Prior experience designing for BESS, data centers, power distribution systems, or related industriesKnowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM)Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a designGreat computational and spatial abilityExcellent oral and written communicationStrong attention to detailAbility to travel as neededShoals Technologies Group, LLC provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
