Contract Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant provides compassionate, efficient support to patients and clinical staff in a busy outpatient clinic. This role focuses on patient follow-up, accurate data entry, and coordination of clinical activities such as lab ordering, scheduling, and communication of results. The Medical Assistant serves as a key point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive timely information and a positive experience during every interaction.ResponsibilitiesPerform patient follow-ups, including calling patients, documenting outcomes, and updating records to ensure continuity of care.Enter patient updates and clinical information accurately into the electronic medical record (EMR), specifically using Athena.Answer inbound phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, triage inquiries, and route calls to appropriate clinical or administrative staff.Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring accurate and efficient appointment scheduling within the EMR.Order laboratory tests as directed by providers, verify orders, and ensure proper documentation in the patient record.Relay lab results to patients and clinical staff in accordance with established protocols and documentation requirements.Essential SkillsAt least 1 year of experience in medical assisting or a closely related clinical support role.Medical assisting diploma or certification, or 1+ years of medical assistant experience (preferred but not strictly required).High school diploma.Hands-on experience working in a medical or healthcare setting, providing direct patient care or clinical support.Ability to work onsite in a clinic environment Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or similar credential is a plus.Work EnvironmentThis role is based onsite at a clinic and involves working closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff in a patient-focused environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime workweek. This is for a contract position for around 4-months.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bradenton, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
