RN - Registered Nurse - Surgical Intensive Care Unit - Multiple Shifts

Position Overview Department: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Schedule Full‑Time Days: 3 12‑hour shifts, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Full‑Time Nights: 3 12‑hour shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am Work Location UAB St. Vincent's East Benefits for eligible positions only include generous paid time off paid parental leave Associate Assistance Program Tuition Reimbursement Program and more On our 14‑bed Surgical ICU (SICU) at UAB St. Vincent's East, we specialize in caring for post‑operative and critically ill surgical patients. Supported by the Central Monitoring Unit, we provide continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. What You Will Do Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. What You Will Need BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted). Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted). Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date (required).
