Maintenance Supervisor

Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Bay City, Michigan . Overview The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee a team responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment within a manufacturing environment, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met. This role involves supervising skilled employees, managing workflow, and collaborating across teams to support production goals. Responsibilities Supervise a group of skilled employees in troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment and processes. Ensure adherence to national and local agreements between the organization and the union. Use independent judgment within manufacturing systems, focusing on safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environment. Collaborate with labor, technical, and engineering teams to optimize service procedures and labor studies. Review electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints to facilitate repairs and troubleshooting. Support labor time studies and special projects related to manufacturing processes. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities and ambiguous situations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications preferred. At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing or automotive environments. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond to production issues promptly. Proficiency in reading electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and second or third shifts. Demonstrated ability to work under ambiguous conditions with a high level of integrity and self-direction. Experience with unionized work environments is desirable. Preferred Qualifications Experience with continuous improvement initiatives. Previous exposure to labor time studies and process optimization. Ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
