Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

This position requires 12-hour night shifts, with a 36-hour guarantee.

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room functions primarily in direct patient care and demonstrates competent clinical practice. This role includes triaging patients, obtaining patient history and vital signs, and assessing patients. The RN acts independently to initiate immediate care in life-threatening situations in the absence of a physician, provides care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients, and assists physicians with procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, intervene appropriately, and participate in care planning.
• Regularly assess patients' needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by physician's plan of care.
• Process physician/provider orders accurately, completely, and in a timely manner while following up on medication changes and order clarifications.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make suggestions or facilitate changes to improve patient care.
• Actively participate in updating and revising treatment plans in collaboration with team members using current information.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of Emergency Room experience - Required
• Travel experience - Highly preferred
• Active Michigan RN License - Required
• Current Skills Checklist pertinent to ER - Required
• 2 Supervisory Reference Forms from the last 2 years - Required
• Active American Heart Association BLS - Required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS - Required
• Active American Heart Association PALS - Required
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification - Required
• Active Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification - Required
